Description
Northern pike (Esox lucius) is a large predator from the Esocidae family, known as the 'freshwater shark'. It has an elongated body with a large mouth full of sharp teeth.
Habitat
Particularly favours still waters and slow rivers rich in aquatic vegetation, with obstacles that provide hiding places.
Diet
The young feed on plankton and insect larvae, and after growing, they switch almost exclusively to fish.

The closed season is listed as 01.02. - 31.03.. During that period, release the fish immediately and carefully.
The minimum size is 40 cm. Fish below this size should be released immediately.
