European perch (Perca fluviatilis) is one of the most famous freshwater fish of the Percidae family. It is characterized by dark vertical stripes on a yellow-green body.
Habitat
Inhabits still and flowing waters with lush vegetation, including slow rivers, deep lakes and fish ponds. Avoids cold, fast-flowing waters.
Diet
It is a carnivore: the young feed on zooplankton and benthic invertebrates, while the adults feed on invertebrates and fish.
