Description
Sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus) is a sensitive species of the genus Acipenser and a valued food fish.
Habitat
A Eurasian species inhabiting rivers of the Black, Azov, Baltic and Caspian Sea basins. In Croatia it occurs in the Danube, Sava, Drava and their tributaries.
Diet
The diet is based on benthic organisms; it mostly eats crustaceans, worms and insect larvae.

The closed season is listed as 01.03. - 31.05.. During that period, release the fish immediately and carefully.
The minimum size is 40 cm. Fish below this size should be released immediately.
